Our take
The DDJ-1000 is a beast – it feels like a club setup in a tabletop unit. The full-sized jog wheels are a joy to use, with excellent tension. The layout is intuitive if you're used to Pioneer gear. The 4-channel mixer section with dedicated phono inputs means you can connect turntables or CDJs. One gripe: the 44.1 kHz sampling rate feels dated; I'd expect 96 kHz at this price. Also, the unit is heavy and not very portable. But for a home or studio setup, it's fantastic. The build is solid, and the integration with Rekordbox is seamless.
