Our take
The DDJ-1000 is a dream to use. The jog displays are incredibly useful for track browsing and waveform viewing—no need to look at a laptop screen. The Magvel faders are smooth and durable, and the club layout feels natural. Rekordbox integration is seamless, and the effects are high-quality. But it's pricey, and the lack of built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth keeps you tethered to a laptop. Also, the full-size size makes it less portable. For serious DJs, it's worth the investment unless you need standalone capability.
